Dear Voters: 

For the past 16 years, it has been my privilege to serve as your State's Attorney for Coles County, prosecuting criminals and holding them accountable and being a voice for victims of crime in the pursuit of justice.

During my tenure in office, felony filings have more than doubled; prison sentences have been imposed for the most deserving, and restitution collected for victims has exceeded more than $2 million. I have personally worked with Judge Shick, the public defender, law enforcement, and the probation department to implement Judge Shick's Drug Court program, which has been a success. In addition to the more usual types of cases, we also have been the voice for abused and neglected animals in prosecuting such cases.

These Web pages present information about my background, experience, and community service and interests, as well as information about my record as your State's Attorney. I hope the information contained in these pages is of value to you as you consider your vote in the Nov. 4 general election. (Early voting begins Oct. 14).

Besides asking for your vote, what I can tell you is that I will always give you everything I have in handling the People's cases, giving them my best effort in my commitment to follow the evidence and the law and do the right thing for the right reason, and do it to the best of my ability.
